EARLY LIFE: Grace Evelyn Gossler was born in Salem, Massachusetts as the only child to David and Patricia Gossler. Her mother loved to tell the story of how she came speeding into the world like a bolt of lighting, hell bent on getting out and seeing what the world had to offer a newborn baby girl. With her mother's eyes and her father's ears, she was the most beautiful thing her parents had ever seen. Growing up, Grace longed for a brother or a sister, especially since the family lived on the outskirts of town and there wasn't anything to do, but the family had been lucky to have one child. The doctor had once told Patricia that she would never be able to have children due to a t-shaped uterus, but fate shined on them and in what seemed like the blink of an eye, they had Grace. David and Patricia loved thier daughter more than anything in the world. The family were incredibly well off and made sure their daughter had everything she needed, never wanting her to settle for anything less than the very best for her.
EDUCATION: High school was a blur for Grace. She saw every day that went by as one day closer to college. She would dream about roommates and sororities and coffee shops just feet from her door. She dreamt about long nights cooped up in the library studying about the things she wanted to learn. After four long years, she graduated and went off to Drexel College to study Education. Her first year, she pledged Phi Mu because she admired their dedication to philantrophy for the Children's Miracle Network. In her senior year, she was voted president of her sorority and with the help of the other Phi Mu Chapters, raised over a million dollars for the Children's Miracle Network, twice the sororty's target goal. She graduated top of her class and left the Phi Mu house with some of the best friends she had ever made. Finally after 22 years, she had sisters.
CAREER: While her parents were on her to come home to Salem and start teaching there, she decided to stay in Philly and try the real world on her own for a while. She had her choice of teaching jobs, but she decided to take a position as a teacher's assistant for a 2nd grade teacher. When she looked back at all her years in school, her happiest memories where in the 2nd grade. It was when she had her favorite teacher, her first best friend, her first crush, everything. After a couple years, the teacher retired and Grace took over teaching the class, much to the children's excitement. They all loved Grace and she loved them. Even when the kids went on to the next grade, they would still come back to see her, whether it was for advice, homework help, or just to say hello and make sure she didn't like her new students better than them.
PERSONAL LIFE: During Red Ribbon Week, the class was due to have a visitor. They weren't that happy about having to listen about something they had heard over and over again so when the man came into the room, Grace joked that he better have stickers or he was a dead man. As he talked, Grace couldn't take her eyes off of him. He was handsome and funny and really knew how to talk to her kids. But she had never been good at making the first move so she refrained from talking to him and locked it away with all the other things she wanted but would never have. At least she thought she had. As she prepared for the next part of her class, she heard a familiar voice behind her. When he asked her out, all she could manage to get out was a "Yeah huh". From the first date, she was in love. The two continued dating for a couple years and while Grace knew she wanted to marry him someday, she never pushed it. She was just happy knowing that he loved her and her only.
FUTURE: In December of 2010, Declan took Grace for a walk. Why he wanted to go for a walk in below zero weather was beyond her, but she was just happy to be with him. The snow was falling and she couldn't help but remember telling him of her dream proposal in the middle of a snowy night just like this. Soon through the snow, she started to see red flakes and heard music playing. She asked Declan what it was, but he just told her to go find out. As the picture came into view, she was left speechless. It was the craziest corniest thing he had ever done, and she loved everything about it. When he got down on one knee, she didn't even wait for him to finish before she screamed "Yes!". Now, the two plan their wedding and Grace counts down the days till she gets to spend the rest of her life with the man she loves more than anything.
PERSONALITY: In order to be an elementary school teacher, you have to be a kid at heart and that is just what Grace is. She is a goofy, hyperactive dork. She always has to be at Disneyland right when it opens so they can get on all the good rides right away and she would probably still trick-or-treat if she didn't think she would get weird looks. She is optimistic and always holds out hope, no matter how bad things get. She loves to dance, even though she's really bad at it. She has a horrible habit for rambling and tripping over her own feet. But she is also really warm and caring. She loves her family and friends and would do anything in the world for them. She has a kind heart and is always giving to people in their time of need.
